The Memorial Artwork is a monumental, contemporary sculpture in stainless steel. Conceived as a tall, steadfast column in 4 parts, this evocative memorial recognizes the profound contributions of Brampton’s Firefighters who have lost their lives in the line of duty, and honours their memory in a meaningful and engaging way.

The material of the sculpture is simple, tough and durable. The finished surface of the sculpture is softly polished and lightly reflective. As viewers approach the Memorial Patio space, the sculpture rises up dramatically against the formal background of trees, hedges and flagpoles of this landscape garden setting. Single words in stainless steel and sandblasted stone are arranged at the ground plane level, forming a kind of poignant concrete poem that further connects the sculpture to its peaceful, contemplative garden context.
